Lindsay Miller, RN-BSN, CLD, CCCE, Lactation Educator

Is there such a thing as “too much support” during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum time?  Has anyone said “I had way too much love and compassion during that time in my life.”? Our CAPPA certified labor doula Lindsay Miller has yet to hear from any pregnant person or birther who feels that way.  Lindsay has devoted herself to the birth world since 2013 and has no aspirations to ever stop.

Well before Lindsay became a doula and birth educator, she was an operating room nurse and absolutely loved the fast pace and need to be a quick thinker.  Working in an O.R requires one to be extremely organized, punctual, skilled, and have keen foresight to anticipate what may be coming next. That expertise comes in extremely handy as a doula.  Birth can change its entire course in an instant, and Lindsay is always ready to serve the birthing family with her sharp intuition, creativity, tenderness, warm-heartedness, and her knowledge and understanding of birth. Lindsay takes her role in the doula world seriously, yet never leaves home without her sense of humor.

Lindsay is usually the one at parties charming the crowd with conversations about birth equity and revolutionizing the postpartum experience.

Lindsay has also trained as a lactation educator and with Spinning Babies.  She has worked with many families planning a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC), twins, medical complications, advanced maternal age, are single mothers, homebirth, IVF, previous birth trauma and other traumas, and inductions.  Lindsay just wants for all people giving birth and/or becoming a parent to understand their rights and options, and for them to have a peaceful transition into parenthood.

What do all those letters mean? RN-BSN (Bachelor's degree in nursing, Registered Nurse in MA), CLD (Certified Labor Doula), CCCE (CAPPA Certified Childbirth Educator), Lactation Educator.

Liz Cable, IBCLC, CLC, HBCE, CCCE, CD(DONA)

Liz felt called to work in the birth world after a difficult pregnancy and birth of her own, followed by a rough breastfeeding experience. After all of that, she wanted to help other birthing and nursing parents have a better experience, to feel seen and heard and cared for.

In her pre-kid life, Liz was a middle school teacher, and although it looks and feels different now, education will always be a passion of hers. She loves to find new ways to make our birth education fun, practical, and informative, and her skills as a teacher make her breastfeeding support sessions enlightening and useful.

Liz trained and certified as a doula through DONA and has supported many families through their birth experiences but now focuses her doula work mainly on families who are planning a scheduled cesarean birth. After attending births and being with families in hospital and home settings, Liz really felt that lactation was where she could help new parents the most. She first trained as a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and spent five years working to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She has honed her skills over several years spent working in-hospital as a lactation consultant on a maternity unit and several years serving families privately in their homes. She takes pride in working collaboratively with families to create a feeding plan that feels doable to them and that helps them meet their own feeding goals. She approaches each client as a whole person rather than a problem to be solved, someone worthy of compassion and care and warmth no matter where they are on their journey.

Liz is also a fierce supporter of body positivity, no-bullshit self care, and self love for everyone. She has worked with families who are experiencing or anticipating multiple births, NICU stays, prematurity, previous trauma, homebirths, single parenthood, tongue and lip tie, HypnoBirthing, and a whole lot more. She wants you to have the birth and parenting experience that works for you.
